NBA fans often debate the greatest player of all time (the GOAT) of the sport. The argument is usually about LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Recently, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner also shared their thoughts when they had to answer a question about attendees in their box. The names taken by these tennis stars weren’t limited to just NBA heroes, as Leonardo DiCaprio and others also found a spot.

Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner make their claim for the NBA GOAT

Player boxes in any tournament are saved for the players’ team, family, friends, and other guests. Recently, the BNP Paribas Open sat down several players and asked them who they would invite to their box. Alcaraz answered, “Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio“. Sinner answered, “LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Valentino Rossi“. While Novak Djokovic said, “Michael Jordan, Alberto Tomba, and Pete Sampras“.

Reading into the names taken by the three tennis champions, Michael Jordan will be invited to the box of two players, while LeBron James will be invited to one box. Through this session, they have most likely added their choices for the NBA GOAT indirectly, and their statements are bound to create much buzz among fans.

Along with the names of the two NBA greats, players also took the names of some of the best soccer stars in the history of the sport. Along with Sinner and Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz also shared the name of a soccer veteran who is touted as the GOAT.

In the same BNP Paribas Open interview, Fritz named Cristiano Ronaldo, Central Cee, and the Kid Laroi as the ones on his invitation list for his box. Along with Alcaraz, Fritz became the second person to name Ronaldo, giving him the edge over Sinner’s choice, Lionel Messi. Just like the debate between James and Jordan, soccer stars endlessly argue about Ronaldo and Messi being the GOAT of the sport.

Along with the four ATP players, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff were also asked about their choices. Swiatek chose Taylor Swift, Julia Roberts, and Harrison Ford. And when it comes to Gauff, Beyonce, Rihanna, and J. Cole got a hypothetical invitation to her box.

All the tennis players shared different names, signifying their interests aside from tennis. If you were in their position, who would you choose to watch your match?
