Carlos Alcaraz gets involved in an on-court clash with?the NBA legend

The 33-year-old recently took up the role of a ball boy for the exhibition match between the young tennis stars, Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe.? At the Louis Armstrong Stadium, the ATP players locked horns for a philanthropic project, Ukrainian Relief Efforts, ahead of the Grand Slam event in New York.

However, the thrilling Stars of the Open encounter took a hilarious turn when Jimmy Butler decided to step on the court. The Miami Heat star jokingly took the tennis racket from Tiafoe and he ended up outshining the reigning US Open champion.

It came to the public lens after the official Twitter page of the tournament shared a video clip of the hilarious on-court matchup between Alcaraz and Butler. The caption of the post said, “Jimmy Butler just showed the world how to beat Carlos Alcaraz ?”

During their matchup on the tennis court, the Spaniard was clearly going easy on the NBA star as he later conceded a point after missing a quick forehand shot.

The American basketball player undoubtedly garnered a lot of attention from the spectators with his tennis debut. However, it wasn’t an easy task for Butler, who had to undergo a strict training regime.

The NBA star’s training regime for his debut as a ball boy

The official Twitter page of the US Open also brought to light the Miami Heat player’s preparations for his debut on the tennis court. While sharing a video clip of his strict training regime, they said, “Jimmy Butler didn’t get to his level without training.”

Ahead of his ball boy debut for the exhibition match in New York, the NBA star was given some insights by the official ball crew of the tournament. During his training sessions, the 33-year-old was sighted performing various exercises with the ball kids while he learned some of their on-court skills.
