The American tennis legend, Chris Evert made her mark among one of the best athletes in the United States before putting down her racket. When it comes to the post-retirement journey, many fans would have thought that the 18 singles Grand Slam champion might not have the same exhilaration as she once used to have on the court.
However, it is not the case for Evert who has been enjoying her journey after moving away from the tennis court. Talking about the same, the 67-year-old once mentioned another legendary American athlete name, Michael Jordan. Just like the former tennis player, the Chicago Bulls ‘ legend had the same viewpoint towards his post-retirement journey. Here’s what Evert said about her understanding of Jordan’s retirement in 1994.

Chris Evert once talked about the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan
The former tennis player was once featured in an interview with the renowned talk show host, Charlie Rose. During the show, Chris Evert was asked about her post-retirement journey. Talking about the same, the 67-year-old said that she has felt like being on vacation after moving away from the tennis court.
Later, she was asked about her understanding of another legendary American athlete, Michael Jordan’s retirement in 1994. The 18 singles Grand Slam champion answered by saying that the decision had a lot to do with his age. In saying that, Evert gave her opinion that if Jordan was in his middle 20s and he further had the ability, he would have kept playing on the basketball court.

However, she also said that having kids during an illustrious basketball journey might have affected his retirement decision.
The Tennis Hall of Famer added, “I think that may be, after, you know, his father passed away, he realized the importance even more so of family and he’s spending more time with his kids.”
Evert also said that she loved Jordan’s viewpoint towards his retirement as he said, “Hey, retirement is great.”
Later, she said that it has such a negative connotation. Evert stated, “retirement, you think you died or something. And you can be reborn, you can live a completely new life and have other joys. So it’s not all bad. “

Evert once shared a vintage photograph with Jordan
The former tennis player previously shared a vintage photograph with some of the greatest athletes in the sporting realm including Michael Jordan. Along with a number of American sports stars, Evert once attended an elite dinner event.
A further photograph of the same was also shared by her in which she was spotted posing with sports legends including Tiger Woods, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Bill Russell.
While sharing that picture, Evert also poked fun at her former husband, Andy Mill.
