Andre Agassi left a huge mark on the tennis world and millions still admire his game and grit around the world. However, the former tennis player is not sitting idly. He is busy leaving his mark in the world outside tennis too, where he has taken conscious steps to make the world a better place. He, alongside Pitbull, the renowned American rapper, took a step to make public education a quality experience so that every kid has the opportunity to have holistic growth.

Agassi joined hands with Pitbull, who is also known for his tremendous mark in the world of philanthropy, for his latest initiative.
Andre Agassi and Pitbull leave a mark in the world of public education
The former world no. 1 has always valued the importance of education and this manifested this can be seen in his latest venture: investing in charter schools. These are public schools that focus on providing quality education to children nationwide. In August 2022, Agassi assisted in the opening of the Rocketship Dream Community Prep in Tennessee with the funding of the Turner Agassi Education Facilities Fund. It serves grades K-4 and focuses on mathematics, literacy, music, and science. The focus of the school is to have parents’ say in major consideration.

Apart from that, American rapper Pitbull too opened up a school in Arizona, namely, SLAM Arizona. SLAM stands for Sports Leadership, Arts, and Medicine and focuses on STEM and sports education in various fields.

It serves grades K-5 and more than 70% of the students come from underserved communities. Furthermore, it has plans to extend the grade to 6 in the 2023-24 school year.
Agassi’s legendary coach Nick Bollettieri once dished out important advice for parents
Nick Bollettieri changed the way tennis coaching worked. His initiative to introduce the concept of boarding facilities to nurture budding tennis stars played a huge role in the rise of many legendary tennis players. But he was considerate in his approach of guiding young stars, which made them grow. He asked the same from today’s parents as well. He pointed out on how much they focused on their kids’ grades or scores. As per him, the focus should be on the effort that the kid has put in to reach that point, instead of the end result.

It looks like Bollettieri’s values are reflecting in the current endeavors of his favorite student, Andre Agassi. Since his retirement, the 8-time Grand Slam winner has been involved in endeavors that focus on serving underserved communities through his Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation.
