The late-night tennis matches at the Australian Open 2023 are the talk of the town now. After various tennis players raised their concerns regarding the late-night schedule, American rising star Ben Shelton also apologized for ruining his girlfriend’s sleep schedule. 

The 20-year-old American tennis player, who reached his first quarter-finals at the Australian Open, played the fourth round, which concluded around 3 AM local time. It’s his first professional tour outside of the United States and he has great support from his parents and his girlfriend, Anna Hall.

Ben Shelton and his heptathlete girlfriend are quite active on social media and frequently share stories about each other. Yesterday when the tennis player won his fourth round, his girlfriend took to her Instagram account to share a story praising him for his hard work. 

However, after the victory, just like an amazing boyfriend, Shelton, shared his girlfriend’s story on his Instagram account and made a straightaway apology to a track and field coach, Mellanee Welty. He wrote, “Sorry @Mellameew for ruining her sleep schedule.” Along with that, he also wrote a message for his girlfriend, saying, “Talk to me nice.”

Shelton’s girlfriend is an active athlete who has her own schedule lined up with all the practice and events she is participating in as a Heptathlete. However, it feels like the American tennis player is quite aware of his girlfriend’s sleep schedule.

When the tennis player cleared the third round and made a place in the last 16, Hall took to her social media to praise his remarkable performance. She shared a video of him with its timestamp, which pointed out that she was up till 5 to watch her boyfriend outclass some top-ranked players.

When the 20-year-old reposted his girlfriend’s story, he clearly took note of her sleep schedule and advised her to go to sleep. Unsurprisingly, the rising tennis player is getting a lot of support and praise from other tennis stars, including Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff.
