Frances Tiafoe has added another feather to his cap after his astounding second-half performance in 2022. Now, he has gone on to become the brand ambassador of Barclays. And Barclays has become the newest sponsor of the Wimbledon Championships.

Tiafoe had an astounding US Open, where he defeated the 22-time Grand Slam champion, Rafael Nadal, on his way to a first Grand Slam semifinal appearance. Outside the tennis court, the stock of American tennis sensation has risen significantly, evident from his recent partnership with Barclays. After the news broke, he expressed his joy at being a part of the organization and shared his delight about the same.
Frances Tiafoe becomes the brand ambassador of the sponsors of Wimbledon
The American tennis player became an instant star on the ATP Tour after his wonderful performance at the US Open. He reached the semi-finals of the hard-court major by defeating the Spanish tennis legend, Rafael Nadal, in the fourth round. Apart from his brilliant performance in Flushing Meadows, he also reached the final of the Japan Open, but went down against his compatriot, Taylor Fritz.
Now, Tiafoe has added one more achievement; becoming the ambassador of Barclays, which is now the banking partner of SW19. $31 billion worth Barclays has signed a multi-year deal with Wimbledon. Their relationship started way back in the 1960s. Now the bank has become one of the biggest sponsors of the grass-court major.

On his partnership, Frances Tiafoe said, “I’m thrilled to be working with Barclays to help change the lives of young people who typically wouldn’t have the opportunity to experience the game of tennis.”

Furthermore, he said, “Growing up, playing at Wimbledon was my dream, so to be an Ambassador for Barclays, the new banking partner for Wimbledon, is very special.”
When can we see an American lift the US Open title on the ATP Tour?
The last American to win US Open title was Andy Roddick, and it came way back in 2003. After that, Americans fans have been patiently waiting for almost two decades for the next star to emerge from the country. This year, Tiafoe gave hope to millions of fans when he reached the semi-finals of the hard court major in Flushing Meadows. However, the eventual champion, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, defeated Tiafoe on his way to a maiden Grand Slam title.
