We are all aware of how disastrous Brooke Shields and Andre Agassi’s marriage was. Nonetheless, there were many rumors’ regarding why the American actress opted to marry a tennis star who was younger than her.

Recently, Shields revealed what it was like to be married to the eight-time Grand Slam champion decades after their divorce.

Just two years into their marriage, both well-known personalities separated. But the real cause of their failed relationship was only discovered years later. Nonetheless, both of the well-known personalities were at the pinnacle of their respective careers at the time of their marriage.

Andre Agassi’s ex-wife answers the most awaited question about the failed marriage

In a conversation with the Sunday Times, the American actress talked about her past life. Interestingly, she opened up about how she was being controlled by her mother; her entire life. Then she went on to expand on how she switched one controlling person for another by marrying the tennis legend.

Shields recounted that when she went to Princeton University to study French Literature, her mother called her constantly to know about her whereabouts.

“I think I finally got it down to five calls a day,” she said to The Sunday Times.

The interviewer further asked the American actress if marrying the former world number one at 32 was her belated teenage rebellion.

She said, “I’d heard the saying that you marry your father, but I kind of married my mom and swapped one form of control for another.”

Not only that, according to the 57-year-old actress, the former tennis legend literally took control of her acting career. And there were moments when he wasn’t totally comfortable with some of her well-known on-screen roles. The 52-year-old tennis ace didn’t particularly enjoy his then-wife’s portrayal in the hit sitcom FRIENDS.

Agassi wasn’t too fond of Shields’ role in the hit TV show ‘FRIENDS’ 

In her memoir, ‘There Was a Little Girl,” the American actress shared an incident where the former tennis player expressed his displeasure with her performance in a FRIENDS episode involving Matt LeBlanc. And apparently, in that scene, she was licking Matt LeBlanc’s character’s hand as she was playing the role of a crazy fan.

According to the American actress, the 8 time Grand Slam champion lost his cool. And he tried breaking his trophies by smashing and throwing them around. Further, she discussed how he destroyed every single trophy he had won, including Wimbledon and the US Open. Not only that, but she also revealed that it took her three years to replace those broken trophies.
