After his first-round defeat at the Aix-en-Provence Challenger, the Spanish tennis player, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, is trying to make amends at the ongoing ATP Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Rome. The 35-year-old tennis star recently outperformed Italian tennis player Francesco Passaro in their three-set thrilling clash at the Italian Open.
Now, Ramos-Vinolas is all geared up for another exciting matchup of the clay event as he will now face his young countryman, Carlos Alcaraz. However, prior to the hyped clash, Ramos-Vinolas got himself embroiled in a controversy due to an alleged financial scam.

Albert Ramos-Vinolas involved in controversy ahead of his match against Carlos Alcaraz
The 35-year-old player recently made headlines for a totally disparate reason than his incredible talent on the court. According to an exclusive report from MundoDeportivo, the Spanish tennis star has been the victim of an alleged financial scam involving his loan contract with an already-extinct company, CSSB Limited.
A few seasons back, the ATP player consented to a loan of $100,000 in favor of the company that is linked to the former director of the renowned Spanish soccer club, Barcelona. Joan Oliver, a notable figure in the sporting world, was the director of CSSB Limited.
The Spaniard consented to a loan for a project, based on the confidence of seeing a document that stated the participation of other prominent figures. The list included the current president of Barça, Joan Laporta, among other notable figures in the sporting community.
Apart from Laporta, Rafa Yuste, and Xavier Sala-i-Martín were the two other names that were mentioned in the document. The Spanish tennis player’s legal advisers are on the case as they aim to resolve the matter. His advisers have already tried to look into the matter without the intervention of the courts.
Nevertheless, the Spaniard awaits facing his countrymen at the Italian Open.

Amidst all the legal drama, Ramos-Vinolas is leaving no stone unturned in his preparations for the Italian Open. After his incredible first-round victory, the Spaniard will now square off with his young compatriot, Carlos Alcaraz.
The reigning US Open champion is in incredible form during the clay season as he recently added another ATP title to his bag after his triumph at the recently concluded Madrid Open.
