“A surreal experience”: Reilly Opelka Reveals Excitement for Laver Cup 2021 in the Presence of His Home Crowd

After witnessing some quite amazing tennis at the US Open 2021, the fans are quite exhilarated for the Laver Cup 2021. The tournament will begin on September 24, 2021, and will extend till September 26, 2021. Interestingly, none of the members of the ‘Big Three’ are playing at the tournament this year.

Team Europe has won the last three editions of the Laver Cup. Unfortunately, the tournament didn’t take place last year due to the coronavirus pandemic but the management is ready to host it in Boston this year.

Since there will be no Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal at the tournament this year, ‘Team World’ finally has the chance of winning their maiden title this year. However, they will have to beat the next-gen superstars including the likes of World No.2 Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev.

Reilly Opelka talks about his feeling before playing at Laver Cup 2021

One of the American stars and the member of Team World, Reilly Opelka, expresses his thoughts about the upcoming Laver Cup 2021. He revealed that it is going to be a surreal experience for him.

“Playing in the US with John McEnroe as our captain is going to be a surreal experience,” said Opelka.

Just like every single year, 7-time Grand Slam champion, Joh McEnroe will be captaining Team World. On the other hand, 11-time Grand Slam champion, Bjorn Borg, will once again lead Team Europe at the Laver Cup 2021.

The tournament is taking place in the home of Reilly Opelka i.e in the United States of America. As a result, the World No.19 player seems quite excited about it and hopes to perform well there.
