It is a saying that one should aim at the sun. Because if one doesn’t reach there, he may well fall on the moon. But former World No 1 Andy Murray seems to be in no mood of landing on the moon. The British star withdrew from the French Open to concentrate on his plans of winning the Wimbledon again.

There are many analysts who believe that Andy Murray has an advantage on grass based on his experience. But at the same, they think that winning Wimbledon is too unrealistic. But the 36-year-old tennis star isn’t just hopeful about his winning. While talking to Guardian, he also opined that how he is better than many players with top rankings.

Is Andy Murray better than younger stars?

The reporter asked Andy Murray if he sees himself as one of the top ten players in the world. Two times Wimbledon champion answered in the affirmative. “Yes, I think so,” he said. “It is hard to put numbers on it, but yes, I would fancy myself against a lot of them.” The tennis star then went on to detail his victories over the top-ranked tennis players in the past year. He talked about how he defeated the Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios and, “one of the best players in the world ” Stefanos Tsitsipas.

He said, “Last year I won against Nick Kyrgios who made the final of Wimbledon, I won against Stefanos Tsitsipas – it is probably not his favorite surface but he is one of the best players in the world.” Andy Murray also talked about his nail-biting loss over Matteo Berrettini in Stugart due to an abdomen injury to buttress his argument.

The age, injury, and the Wimbledon dream

While talking to the Guardian, Andy Murray commented on how he was playing better than the previous year. And that he was working on his physical movements that were trying to halt his flow earlier. He took a break from the French Open such that he can add one more Wimbledon trophy to his shelf.
