Fans despise the ATP for cutting out bonus for Novak Djokovic
Recently, the fans noticed something unusual in the yearly list of rewards for players released by ATP. While Novak Djokovic’s bonus was marked reduced to 100 percent, the list started to cause chaos in the tennis world. Although the reason mentioned by the ATP was Djokovic’s act of missing more than three Masters 1000 tours, it turned out to be the authorities themselves who stopped the Serb from taking part because of his vaccination status. A recent tweet, targeted to slam the authorities over the act, asked a major question that said, “How is the ATP even allowed in getting away with this?”
Been reported that Djokovic Masters bonus was taken off by 100% as it was stated he missed 3 Masters events 2 of these he wanted to play (Indian Wells and Miami) but was banned from playing them as he was unvaccinated.

As soon as the tweet that presented facts side by side caught the attention of Djokovic’s superfans, they started to despise the ATP over the action that was totally unexpected with an authority of such integrity. As the trail of comments started, a fan, pointing out the lack of support by the ATP for players, wrote, “It showed how much ATP is detached from the reality. This organization does nothing for players!”

The angle of Djokovic’s parallel association PTPA also walked in as a fan and asked the ATP if that was the reason for the discrimination against the Serb. He wrote, “This is so wrong! Absolute discrimination ! The unfairness of it reeks with corruption. Is it because he has co- created the players association? One wonders… I think it is time for Novak to bring in the lawyers. Give corrupt Gaudenzi &ATP something to think about.”

With these and several other comments of despising the ATP, fans made sure to hit the authority on the right spot as they committed the unexpected act of cutting huge bonuses from Djokovic’s end. However, besides being deprived of the bonuses, Djokovic’s 2023 rankings stunned the fans to a great extent.

Djokovic is on top of the reward list despite bonus dismissal
Novak Djokovic secured the top spot in earnings for 2023 with huge numbers that marked an impressive $15,952,044. Djokovic faced setbacks as he had to drop tournaments because of his vaccination status, costing him a share of the first bonus pool. The Serbian tennis star skipped three ATP 1000 tournaments during the year. His absence from the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open was due to the USA’s COVID-19 vaccine rules that prevented his entry into the country.

Besides vaccination, the Serb had to keep himself out of the Madrid Open and the Canadian Open due to concerns over an elbow injury. While the tennis star achieved the top spot with names like Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev running up, the ATP’s decision to cut down huge bonuses from his reward was highly despised by the fans.
