The 6-time singles Grand Slam champion, Boris Becker was in a dark phase due to his legal stints in the United Kingdom. Now that he is back in Germany after being released from prison, the 55-year-old has been given an opportunity to return to his commentating duties.

The Eurosport Germany’s coverage channel has reportedly offered Becker to feature in his show as a  pundit and commentator. They want the former German tennis player to cover the upcoming Grand Slam event in Melbourne. After moving away from the court, Becker has often entertained the tennis community with his commentating duties.

Boris Becker to return to his duties as pundit and commentator

After his legal stint in the United Kingdom, the former No. 1 tennis player has got an opportunity to make a return to his pundit duties. Back in the UK, Boris Becker served a period of imprisonment for his legal troubles as he was accused of hiding assets relating to his bankruptcy. This further led to the 6-time singles Grand Slam champion’s deportation to his home country.

Back in Germany, the former tennis player is reportedly making a return to his commentating duties for the Australian Open. The Eurosport Germany’s coverage channel has offered him an opportunity to cover various matches of the season’s first Grand Slam event. Consequently, the tennis community might get to see the German tennis legend on the tv screens.

The sports channel further wants Becker to become the host of his own highlights and analysis show of the Australian Open. It is also being reported that Becker will remain in their studio in Munich in order to cover the matches. The name of the show that Becker is going to host is titled  ‘Matchball Becker’.

Becker’s previous roles at other Grand Slam events

The German tennis great has also made his mark as one of the top pundits and commentators for various channels. The former tennis player was previously featured as a pundit and analyst for the channel, BBC.

They gave Becker a role in order to cover various matches of Wimbledon. However, after his legal troubles in the UK, he was dropped from these duties.
