Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic is currently leading his team, the Falcons, in the World Tennis League Dubai. After attending the soccer world cup final in Doha, Djokovic flew straight to Dubai and played his first match against Alexander Zverev. During the match, a nasty shot from Zverev hit Djokovic on his chest. Later, the 21 times Grand Slam champion had his sweet revenge.

Although it was all fun and Zverev volunteered for it. Here’s what happened.
Novak Djokovic has his revenge in a friendly way
What happened between Zverev and Djokovic in Dubai is the perfect example of a proper exhibiting match. While the aggression and seriousness was there, the fun element adds to the extra entertainment for the fans. After Zverev hit a nasty blow to Djokovic’s chest, which as per Express.co.uk had a commentator saying, “That was a deadly accurate shot from Zverev“. The Serb took his revenge by hitting it back at Zverev.
However, world number 12 did not resist or block and instead bent over to receive the gentle blow on his bum. It all happened en route to Zverev’s easy straight-set victory over the 21-time Grand Slam champion.
Djokovic is taking this exhibition tournament as a preparation for the upcoming Australian Open. After missing out on the tournament in Jaunary this year, the 35-year-old is eager to make a strong comeback in his favorite tournament.
Djokovic goes in as the favorite to win the 2023 Australian Open
Novak Djokovic’s memories of the previous Australian Open are pretty harsh. The world number five travelled down under only to return after getting his visa rejected because of the covid-19 vaccination guidelines. Adding to that, the Serb also received a two-year travel ban.

After getting the approval to play in the Australian Open 2023, he also signed up for a doubles tournament in Adelaide.

Notably, the 35-year-old is by far the best player at the Australian Open. The Serb has nine Australian Open titles to his name. After missing out this year, the Serb will be hungry for his 10th title in 2023. Even though the 35-year-old missed out on most part of the tour this year, he won five out of 12 tournaments he played this year. Adding that to his record in the Australian Open, Djokovic will be the favorite to lift the title in Australia.
