Rafael Nadal suffers from a chronic condition that affects his foot- the Mueller-Weiss Syndrome. Recently, Nadal talked about having found a cure for his condition. While Nadal fans are overjoyed at this as it fades the probability of Nadal’s retirement, Djokovic fans haven’t been kind.

Nadal is undoubtedly Djokovic’s nemesis, but the two do not have a bitter relationship off-court. However, the same is not true in the case of their fans.

Novak Djokovic fans are relentless

Djokovic’s fans have been quick to react to the latest statement of Nadal about recovering from his chronic foot issue. They have accused Nadal of being on steroids and the whole story about a new treatment to be fake.

Djokovic fans have conveniently assumed that Nadal is just running away from the Serbian on the court. A Djokovic fan interpreted Rafa’s statement as:

To top it off, the 21-time Grand Slam champion’s fanbase has come up with another theory. They are having their suspicions about an “anti-Novak” bias in the circuit after everyone questioned Djokovic about his bottle. The Serb was seen inhaling something from his bottle between matches and that had spurred a controversy.

Fans have also tried to interpret Rafa’s statement in parts and suggested that he might be playing with an ulterior motive.

Several Nadal fans have gotten into virtual squabbles with Djokovic supporters regarding their comments. They have repeatedly tried to state that the treatment the Spaniard is talking about is legal and that there is public information available on the procedure. One Nadal fan tweeted,

Considering everything, the good news is that Rafael Nadal will not be needing anesthetics anymore to numb his feet while on court. The player had gone into surgery in 2021, but only received partial relief from the long-standing condition. However, in light of his recent statement, we are hopeful that his career has indeed taken a turn for the best.
