German tennis star, Alexander Zverev has been dating Sophia Thomalla, a German actress and model since 2020. ‘Zvemalla’ has been in the limelight since day one of announcing their relationship publicly. Both of them have been the strongest pillars of support through the thick and thin of their lives. However, everything wasn’t a bed full of roses for this beautiful couple in the initial phases of their relationship. They met each other for the first time through a mutual friend. But after a few months, the couple faced a lot of criticism mainly due to their age gap.

Alexander Zverev recently gave an interview with broadcaster RTL, where he spoke about his relationship. He stated that everything is going absolutely fine between them, adding, “If the woman is happy, the man is happy too.” The tables have turned, and his girlfriend is now sharing her side of the story.

Sophia highlighted the criticism they have faced together over the years surrounding their previous relationships. But does anything matter to her? “I don’t think anything of it. It doesn’t really matter to me and it was clear to me from the start that people are suspicious,” Sophia answered. She further added, “Even if it had only lasted a month, it wouldn’t have mattered to me.“

For those who are unaware, Sophia Thomalla married Norwegian single Andy LaPlegua in 2016 but then got divorced a year later. After that, she got into a relationship with the famous British musician Gavin McGregor Rossdale (lead singer and lead guitarist of BUSH). They remained together for 2017 and 2018. However, after that in 2019 she was spotted dating former Liverpool goalkeeper, Loris Karius. 

But even that relationship didn’t last long for the German actress. Fans now enjoy seeing her together with the German tennis star, Alexander Zverev. The World No. 5 has been a controversial figure when it came to his past relationships. He even has a daughter with his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea. It has been a challenging journey so far for this German couple. Thomalla once said they have a pretty complicated life together.

Last year in a documentary, Sophia Thomalla revealed, “We don’t have a simple life together.” She added, “Alex, with the incredible amount of sports he has and the continuity he has to go through again and again – and my life is anything but continuous. It’s not 24/7 red roses now.”

Tennis players often find it difficult to find a balance between their personal and professional lives. But both of them have somehow managed to find a way out of their hectic schedules to spend time with each other. Sophia Thomalla said Alexander Zverev is always there for her no matter what. While Zverev added, “She gave me the chance to realize that there is much more out there than tennis.“
