In one of the interviews given by the Argentinian, he highlighted the impact and the sacrifices made by his parents so that he could have a career in tennis.

“Since the beginning, my dad and my mom have done everything possible so that I can travel. My dad is a veterinarian, and my Mom is a teacher in literature and language. They have that work culture that was applied during my career. There were times when they had the opportunity to travel, and that’s why my mom didn’t want to so she wouldn’t miss school and stop teaching.”

When del Potro hangs his racquet, he can dedicate more time to his family and be there for them to take care of their needs as he explores other options outside the sport.
