Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov is making headlines with his brilliant performance in the Australian Open. Now in the semifinals, Khachanov is the Russian pride. He is technically not able to represent Russia in the tournament and plays under a neutral flag.

Khachanov’s performance in the tournament has introduced him to many tennis fans who are eager to know about his personal life. He is the son of Abgar and Natalia Khachanov. His father is a doctor. Just a few days before his 20th birthday in 2016, Khachanov got married to the love of his life, Veronika.

Karen Khachanov is with the woman of his dreams

Karen Khachanov and Veronika Shkliaeva started seeing each other in 2011. The pair got married in an intimate wedding ceremony in Moscow in 2016. 

According to what Khachanov claims, he could not impress Veronika in one go. In what was their first encounter, he bumped into Veronika at the airport with his luggage. She was very angry with him but he was completely smitten with her. They have been friends since Karen was 8 years old. They even trained at the same tennis academy.

In 2022, the couple celebrated their sixth anniversary as was evident by a Q&A on Khachanov’s Instagram story. Veronika and Khachanov have a very private relationship with just a few photos on Instagram. Khachanov’s first Instagram story featuring his wife is now in a highlight captioned “Family”. The picture says, “Finally, meet my wife on social media!”

Veronika’s twin sister is married to Ilya Tvashka, the Belarusian tennis player. Although Khachanov is from Moscow, Russia, his current residence is in Dubai where he lives with his wife and son.

In 2019, Karen and Veronika welcomed their firstborn David Khachanov on 14th September. Khachanov is very fond of his son and unlike Veronika, his Instagram is full of his son’s antics.

Khachanov credits his family for his success

Karen values his family a lot and credits them for all his successful endeavors. He believes that their support and encouragement are incremental in his growth as a pro tennis player. Both on and off the court, his family has always been his support.
