Meet Rafael Nadal’s son

Rafa and his wife, Mery ‘Xisca’ Perello, tied the knot in 2019. Three years into their marriage, the high school sweethearts welcomed their first child into the world. As per several reports, he is named Rafael Nadal Perello. The boy was born in October 2022 and is now almost 11 months old.

While Rafa did not announce the exact date of birth of his son, he shared an update about him and his family following the birth. He arrived just days before the third anniversary of the Spanish couple. More important dates surround his son’s birth. He was born two weeks after Rafa played doubles with Roger Federer in the final match of the Swiss legend at the Laver Cup.

Being in a profession like tennis, bringing balance to one’s personal and professional life can become very tricky. It was the same for Rafa, who said “I don’t know what will change in my life because I don’t have experience, but I don’t think it will change my professional life” about becoming a father. 

The Spaniard would later tell Marca that life after their son changed drastically. Regardless of the impacts, he aims to make sure he makes a proper schedule which he can follow to keep enjoying his professional life.

While Rafa is quite happy with hi, becoming a father, he had planned it for his retirement. He said, “I always thought that all this would come when I retired“.

Rafa further said that his original plan was that. But a happy misstep occurred, and his career lasted much longer than he expected. He further said, “So you have to learn to live with this new life stage and try to continue being as competitive as possible. I don’t visualize my retirement because things change very quickly, but I would like it to be on a track.”

Safe to say, life has not been the same for the 14-time French Open champion. Now, he has added more responsibilities to his personal life. 

Future aspirations

The King of Clay’s thinking has probably undergone a massive change as he learns how to be a father to his son. Although he doesn’t like to put him in the public eye, he does travel around with him frequently. Rafa was seen pushing a stroller during the 2023 Australian Open. While his life has changed drastically due to the addition of his family, he is taking it all in as it comes.

As his son awaits his first birthday, Nadal is yet to share his aspirations about the runt of his family.
