Mouratoglou uses ‘iconic’ video to wish Daniil Medvedev

The Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) was an international individual tennis league, organized by Patrick Mouratoglou and Alex Popyrin, entrepreneur and father of Alexei Popyrin. They held the first edition of the league in 2020. This was when the ATP calendar was disrupted because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. It is Medvedev’s introduction video for this tournament that Mouratoglou used to wish the 26-year-old.

In the video, Medvedev refers to himself as the ‘Chessmaster’ and talks about how some people call him the ‘Garry Kasparov of tennis’. He also used a chess analogy to explain the way he plays. Fans can see him hitting the balls hard on a clay court, which he publicly has said is his least favorite surface. In the video, he also says that hates to lose, and he is no longer a rook, rather he is ‘more of a master.

Mouratoglou, posted from his academy’s account, tagged Medvedev. He said how this introduction ‘will always be iconic’ and wished the star a happy birthday.
