Rafael Nadal bid farewell to his arch-rival and greatest tennis player of all time. Roger Federer was all in tears and so were Nadal and Novak Djokovic. It was a huge moment for the Big three who dominated men’s tennis for the past two decades. Nadal talked about his relationship with Djokovic and Federer and how after all these years of strong rivalry, they have had cordial relations with each other.

The utter dominance of the Big three was so prevalent that they had become household names when tennis came into consideration.

Both Nadal and Djokovic were deeply emotional while bidding farewell to Roger Federer, their arch-rival. Three of them raised the bar of tennis and pushed each other to become the best version of themselves.

They led by example as to how resilience and tenacity can beat any hurdle that comes their way. Rafa talked about his different equations with the two players.

Nadal said, “It is no less true that with Roger the relationship has always been a little more special on a personal level, but it is also true that with Novak it has always been fluid.”

The Big 3 as a team
Furthermore, he talked about coming together to represent ‘Team Europe’ in the Laver Cup. He said, “In the end, it is a reality that we are playing as a team, that we take it seriously.” Moreover, he talked about the legacy that they have created. He said, “It is true that the names are perhaps the best in history together, but perhaps the moment of each one is very different.”

He announced his withdrawal from the Laver Cup citing personal reasons. Nadal is going to have his first baby. Eventually, the upcoming weeks are going to be pressurizing for him as his wife is nearing childbirth.

However, he showed hopes for Novak Djokovic and his performance on the court.
