Daniil Medvedev is on the list of players who are more known for their outbursts than their accomplishments. The Russian player is often seen fighting with umpires, making a scene, or smashing his equipment. The player is often under fire for his behavior and recently was criticized again. During practice bouts at the Cincinnati Open, Medvedev threw a racket which evoked fan criticism his way.

There is no shortage of instances of Medvedev’s outburst on the court. He fought against the chair umpire in the 2020 US Open, which became a big scene. His hate for the clay season is well known, and he has spoken about it many times. Additionally, he also mocked the umpire once over an issue with his toilet breaks. But this time, his outburst happened during a practice match, which is rare for him.

Fans criticize Daniil Medvedev for racket abuse during practice

Playing a practice bout with Holger Rune, Medvedev aimed to retain his big serve. However, close to the end of the practice match, the Russian player served several double faults. Unable to contain his anger after another double fault, he turned around instantly and launched his racket at the fence. His behavior was not liked by the majority of tennis followers.

One fan wondered what had infuriated Medvedev and why the crowd was silent instead of reacting to the throw.
