Rafael Nadal is back on the grass courts of Wimbledon after three years. The Spanish tennis legend, after winning his 14th Roland Garros title. He took some time off to get his foot issue cured, which has been a hurdle for the player for some time.

His coach, Marc Lopez, expressed his views on the performance of the Spanish legend. He also gave updates on the foot health of the tennis player ahead of the Wimbledon.

Coach on Rafael Nadal’s foot condition ahead of the Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal had been undergoing a new treatment for his foot. His coach, Marc Lopez, said, “At the moment, everything is positive. The foot issue, which was always the most worrying thing, is OK.”

Lopez further talked about his training on the grass court. He said, “Rafa has not played here in three years. All the training sessions add up, even those in which you don’t feel good, because they help you correct things for the next one.”

Rafael Nadal’s foot had been recently anaesthetised because of his chronic condition, Mueller-Weiss syndrome. There was some apprehension about the player’s participation at Wimbledon.

However, he has now confirmed it and has now been practicing for the grass court major.

Moreover, the player stayed active and played some exhibition matches too ahead of his comeback at the SW19. He will face Argentinian player Francisco Cerundolo who got to the semi-finals in Miami and also plays well on the grass court.

If Rafa cruises through all the rounds, he might end up facing his arch-rival Novak Djokovic in the finals. Undoubtedly, this would be one of the most awaited finals in this year’s Wimbledon.
