Sebastian started the game strong, winning the first set 6-3, but couldn’t keep up with his counterpart’s amazing defensive display. As Karen won the next two sets 6-4, 6-3 on the bounce, Sebastian was put under tremendous pressure.

Recording just 6 aces to the 17 of his counterpart, the game was slipping out of the American’s hands.

However, with all his youthful energy put into drive, Sebastian let his racquet do the talking. He recorded 65% win percentage on his first serve and 50% on his second, as he began to script his comeback.

The crowd was up on their feet as the 21-year-old fought his way back into the game. Karen wasn’t letting go of his lead either, equaling the scoreline with every service break. With everyone on the edge, the game could change its course at any moment.

Final countdown

Against all his relentless efforts, Sebastian couldn’t breach his opponent’s defense. Both players gave it their absolute everything to win the game. However, there could be only one winner in this epic showdown and today it was Karen Khachanov.
