He further illustrated the explanation behind the advice, stating, “Because sometimes you can’t predict the outcome, and in tennis match I could,you know, but in life he told me that do only watch you can do to do what’s best for the outcome that you are looking for.”

Connors further added the relevance of the advice that Pancho Segura gave to him that still applies to his current situation. He said, “He kind of spread out to me because he says long after your career is over that you are gonna live your life, and your life may not even involve tennis, you know which is kind of interesting because you know that the way it is for me now.”

Connors further added, “He always told me that when you live your life, you live it your way, and because that’s the way he taught me to play tennis.” Segura’s impact on former tennis legend Jimmy Connors has been huge and extended beyond the boundaries of the tennis court.
