It has been an action-packed first week of the US Open. Top American stars have started on the front foot, with commanding wins over their opponents. One such player among them is Tommy Paul. The 14th seed is in the third round of the tournament and his match is currently underway at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Before this match between Paul and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Coco Gauff’s coach, Brad Gilbert took on a new adventure.

Brad Gilbert steals the show ahead of the match of Tommy Paul

Before the start of the day’s play at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the 62-year-old veteran coach shared a video on his official Twitter handle. In the clip, Gilbert was seen taking on broadcasting duties. Talking about the experience, Gilbert said, “What a busy year. Getting ready to call Tommy Paul and Fokina at 12 o’clock. Rest and sleep, you know is overrated. I can get back at 1:30 in the morning, check out my notes, all my screens.”

The legendary coach is enjoying working with Gauff. Their partnership has already started bearing fruits. Additionally, Gilbert himself was very impressed with Gauff.

Gauff’s coach sounds huge praise for her

Earlier this year, as Gauff prevailed at the Citi Open, her coach surprised the 19-year-old with a special message. Gilbert said, “really enjoyed 1st tournament. She is extremely hardworking and very humble.” In the ongoing US Open, Gauff is in the third round and will take on Elise Mertens later today.

On the other hand, Paul has one step into the pre-quarterfinal of the US Open. He is two set up against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in no time. At the time of writing, the third set is tied at 1-1.
