Did you know that tennis legend Roger Federer enjoys the same kind of food that people who frequent McDonald’s do? The Swiss Maestro has a sweet tooth and occasionally indulges in junk food. Even though he adheres to a strict diet plan, now that he has retired, he never passes up the chance to indulge in a cheat meal. The former tennis star recently treated himself to an American comfort food that is everyone’s favorite.

If there’s one cardinal rule that every professional athlete follows strictly, it is having a strict and structured diet. The epitome of such an athlete in the tennis world is Novak Djokovic. While the 41-year-old Swiss legend occasionally enjoys skipping his diet regimen and eating comfort food, other athletes, like Novak Djokovic, adhere to a very strict diet and only consume gluten-free and plant-based foods. He mostly stays away from meat, fish, and other animal-based food products. Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, likes to indulge in seafood when he isn’t following his daily diet plan.

Roger Federer enjoys a cheeky burger
The former world number one is highly active on social media and enjoys sharing every little joyful update with his fans. And most recently, he posted a picture of himself enjoying a burger on Instagram.
He shared pictures of himself holding the burger and looking into the camera with a cheeky smile as he was all set to enjoy the burger. Along with those pictures, Federer wrote a caption with a little twist. He wrote, “Here for the cheeky burger”.

As Federer is in the US, preparing for the Met Gala, he has truly embraced the true spirit of American eating habits by digging into what looks like a classic cheeseburger.

Immediately after the post went viral, his fellow tennis players, Tommy Haas and Andreas Seppi, commented on the cheeky burger post. The German tennis player wrote, “How’s the burger? Eat up and I tell ya”. While the Italian star advised him to have a couple more. Seppi commented, “I hope you had at least a couple.”
While the former tennis player loves Italian food, this time he went out to try the popular American snack. But did you know that the 41-year-old tennis player disclosed his favorite delicacy a few years ago?

What is Federer’s all-time favorite delicacy?
Like many people hailing from Switzerland, chocolate is the former tennis player’s favorite food item. The tennis legend spoke candidly about his love for chocolates in every flavor in an interview with the New York Times in 2021. The 41-year-old tennis player has an insatiable sweet tooth. He admitted in that interview that he enjoys chocolate just like any other Swiss person.

He also revealed that he had tried milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, and everything in between and had loved each one. Federer notably disclosed his particular preference for comfort food. He mentioned that he likes Zurcher Geschnetzeltes, which is minced meat with mushroom sauce, and Rost, a potato-fried meal.
