Former World No.1 Andy Murray didn’t enjoy a great run at the US Open 2021 as he got eliminated in the very first round. Even though he gave some pretty tough competition to Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Greek player managed to win the match in five sets.

After the US Open 2021, Murray played at the ATP Challenger in Rennes but failed to make a mark there. He lost in the second round and thus, got knocked out of the tournament.

Recently, Andy Murray arrived in Metz, France for a tournament. He met World No.13 Hubert Hurkacz there who got the opportunity to hit the net with the 3-time Grand Slam champion. The Polish player even posted a beautiful picture with Murray after his training session on Instagram.

Murray and Hurkacz have quite a similar kind of gameplay and thus, one often calls the Polish player as Murray’s clone. As a result, Hurkacz looked quite happy after practicing with Murray. He must have got some tips from the British star and will try to play accordingly in Metz.

Andy Murray entered the Moselle Open 2021 as a wildcard

Interestingly, Murray has begun his training for the Moselle Open 2021 in Metz, France, where he entered as a wildcard. Along with him, France’s Lucas Pouille and his fellow compatriot, Gregoire Barrere, also registered themselves in the tournament as wildcards.

The tournament began today and will extend till September 26, 2021. It will be played on hard-courts and will be like a warm-up tournament ahead of the Indian Wells Masters 2021.

Andy Murray will play his first match against France’s Ugo Humbert at the Moselle Open 2021. It is an important tournament for him since he wants to climb up in the ATP rankings.
