Andy Roddick may have traded his racquets for a mic, but his love for tennis hasn’t skipped a beat. Whether he’s dishing out witty takes on his podcast or championing the sport he once ruled, Roddick knows how to stay in the game—and in the headlines. This time, the former US Open champ is serving up some wholesome family vibes! Roddick recently made waves by taking his wife, Brooklyn Decker, and their kids to watch two of today’s most electrifying stars, Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe, light up the court.
Alcaraz and Tiafoe faced each other for a remarkable battle in an exhibition match at the Charlotte Invitational. The tournament also features Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys as it attempts to bring “high-profile sporting events to Charlotte that have economic impact and add to the quality of life.” In an interesting and surprising appearance, Roddick and Decker also joined in to catch a glimpse of the matches.
In a video surfacing on the internet, Roddick, donning black attire, can be seen with his wife Decker and children Hank and Stevie as they watch the match. The kids looked immensely elated waving at the camera with the couple being on their sides, depicting true parenthood moments. Remember, the couple got married in 2009 and have always been seen enjoying some adorable moments with each other, and hence, Decker’s visit to tennis stands is not new.

The American model and actress has been often a part of Roddick’s matches and was often seen supporting him from the stands. Roddick also managed to take her to Wimbledon where the couple once walked together ahead of the match. Detailing the same, he shared on his Served with Roddick podcast in June, “The walk that I’ve made a million times, from the locker room to the center court where you’re walking through a club….she got to see, the walk that you do when you play in a final. We got to make that walk together, which was really cool. And I think it was a cool experience for her as well. I loved that day.” Besides, he has depicted immense admiration for his wife highlighting the efforts they put in for each other.
In an interaction with the US Weekly in 2022, Roddick remarked, “I think we know that we each try to go above and beyond with our household responsibilities and the kids.” However, the couple’s sweet relationship was not as beautiful as it might be today as they went through some serious struggles during the initial phase of their relationship.

However, the beginning of their relationship was not as smooth, as revealed by the couple themselves.
In an interview with GQ Sports in 2023, Roddick said, “I went from, ‘I don’t think I’m gonna get in a serious relationship forever,’ and then we were engaged in, like, six months. And then we really got to know each other.” Decker too, joined in the fray and shed her perspective on the evolution. “With our relationship, I think that ego and insecurity about failing – and failing publicly – was very much a motivation to put our heads together and figure this out.” This signifies that while every relationship can have its challenges, moving past them together is a sign of maturity.
