The 2003 US Open champion recently posted information about a future event involving his foundation on Twitter. Connors will attend the event as a guest, and Roddick will serve as the moderator. The fan’s reply to the former world no.1’s tweet, though, caught his attention.

The fan wrote, “Based largely on what I’ve heard, watched and read (Agassi’s book)… I’ve always perceived Connors to be a rather insufferable personality. I think of the opposite of you… so it strikes me as a really off pairing. So, whose assessment do I have wrong? Lol!”

Roddick came to the rescue of his former coach by asserting that they are still friends and that he is frequently misunderstood. He also mentioned how Andre Agassi has also changed over time. The tennis star wrote, “People can change I guess. Andre certainly has over time as well. I was fortunate to see the best of all of them (my tennis heroes) I think Jimmy is often misunderstood. Didn’t know him when he was playing but he’s always been a loyal friend to me.”

What is Roddick doing now?

The renowned tennis player decided to step away from the sport in 2012 after suffering from frequent injuries. Since then, he has been quite active on social media and is working tirelessly with his foundation to support charitable causes. He founded his non-profit organization, Andy Roddick Foundation, in the year 2000.
