According to his theory, the reason why Novak has lost his motivation to get better is because now his top rivals won’t be challenging him for titles, and that is why he has no reason to improve or continue to get better.

Bresnik further explains how this might work in favor of Carlos

As per Bresnik, Novak does not have any motivation to get better, but Carlos does. Carlos does not have the same number of Grand Slams to his name and no pressure to be the best. All he does is play freely, which is why he can easily play against the more experienced ones.

He further adds that now might be the time there can be a change of guard because Carlos defeated not just anyone but the best of all and most successful of all time.
