Trash talking or any mocking gestures in tennis are not that common. But some players end up becoming infamous for the acts. Recently, Novak Djokovic came under much fire for copying Ben Shelton‘s celebration after his victory, which many assumed was a mocking gesture. While some enjoyed it, many chastised the Serbian star. Andre Agassi’s ex-coach lies with the former crowd. He believed the gesture was joyful to watch. He even drew a parallel between Djokovic and Aussie bad boy, Nick Kyrgios.

Kyrgios, the boastful player, was rather happy with the comparison. He is close to Djokovic and has aimed to play at his level often, but is unable to rise to his level. However, many consider his personality similar to the Serbinator’s as both harbors somewhat of a controversial image. Being compared to him in another aspect, Kyrgios was a rather happy individual.

Ever since Djokovic beat Shelton in the US Open semifinal, he has drawn the flak of fans and followers from around the world. Many have chastised him for copying Shelton’s celebration where the youngster hangs up the phone on his opponent.

Most recently, he did it after he won against Frances Tiafoe. They stated that he should not have mocked the younger player. But, Darren Cahill, ex-coach of Andre Agassi, has come out in support of Djokovic, even likening him to the Aussie bad boy, Nick Kyrgios.

He often leaves replies to various posts about the news. Seeing that he is being compared to the Djoker, the controversial Aussie figure was quite happy. His reply could also mean that one prominent tennis figure is talking positively about showmanship. The Aussie figure has always been in support of it and is now happy that one of his favorites is doing it too.
