These two teams are indeed surprise entrants into the finals, as the big guns took quite a hit this time. The Italians muscled their way past the group stage and the semi-finals, and they’re here to win it all.

However, a robust Russian unit will stand in their way and compete with all their might to stop that from happening.

Daniil Medvedev vs Matteo Berrettini: Preview

This is the matchup that will determine the outcome of the finals. The marquee match can go either way, and it is all about how the athletes overcome the nerves to display their best game.

Both Medvedev and Berrettini are unbeaten so far, and their meeting in the finals will be an intense one. Two hard-hitting players going against each other is always a quality matchup, not to forget their incredible durability on the tennis court.

Endurance will also play a major part when Medvedev and Berrettini face each other. It is essential for Medvedev to be at his absolute best because the Italians might overpower the Russians when it comes to the doubles matchup.

Daniil Medvedev vs Matteo Berrettini: Head-to-Head

This clash has already got everyone excited as these two have rarely faced each other. In fact, Daniil Medvedev and Matteo Berrettini have only met each other once in the past, which came back in 2018.

The talent pair faced each other three years ago at the 2018 Indian Wells, with the Russian coming out on top in a grueling three-setter. However, the tide may change and Berrettini might pull out a result in his favor when they face each other on Sunday.

Medvedev vs Berrettini: Prediction

Medvedev and Bettettini are a major reason behind their nation’s excellent outing at this year’s ATP Cup. The latter is yet to drop a set in the tournament and looks in excellent touch ahead of the Medvedev challenge.

However, Daniil Medvedev seems to be the towering favorite in this clash. The Russian has the endurance to carry on with the game for hours and can break his opponent with his persistence.

Furthermore, Medvedev has still not deviated from his excellent run late in 2020 and it seems to be extending at the moment. The ATP Finals winner can get past Berrettini if he manages to gain early momentum by serving well.

Though Berrettini has the capacity to put up a fight, we’re predicting that Daniil Medvedev will win this match in three sets.
