The 27-year-old overcame his Japanese opponent, Taro Daniel, in the first-round match with a score of 6-4, 6-2, 6-3. However, Eubanks was later knocked out in the next round after tasting defeat at the hands of fifth seed Andrey Rublev.

Steve Johnson, on the other hand, is coming to the Dallas Open after securing back-to-back wins in the qualifying rounds. He brushed aside the German tennis player Timo Stodder in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, of his first qualifier game. Later, the 34-year-old American player also defeated the Frenchman Terence Atmane in a three-set thrilling match, as he secured a place in the main draw of the ATP 250 event.

The first-round match between Eubanks and Johnson at the Dallas Open will mark their third meeting on the men’s tour. In their past two encounters at the Hall of Fame Open and the Orlando Challenger, Eubanks came out on top against his compatriot, and he currently has a 2-0 lead in their H2H record.
