Fritz vs. Paul: Head-to-Head Record

The title match between Fritz and Paul at the Delray Beach Open will mark their eighth meeting on the ATP circuit. In their most recent on-court encounter at the 2023 Abierto Mexicano Telcel, Paul defeated his compatriot in a hard-fought, three-set battle, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6. Three of their seven previous meetings were on the Challenger Tour. Paul won two of them.

With two wins apiece on the ATP Tour, Tommy Paul currently has a 4-3 lead in their H2H record. Apart from his win in Acapulco, Paul got the upper hand on Fritz in straight sets at the 2021 Stockholm Open. As for Fritz, he secured straight-set victories over Paul at the 2021 St. Petersburg Open and the 2022 Miami Masters. This will be the first time the American pair will meet in the finals of a tournament.

Prediction: Fritz to come out on top in the championship game

Fritz has reached the finals without dropping a single set during his phenomenal campaign in Delray Beach. Also, the American player is familiar with the on-court conditions as he is a defending champion. Given his current top-10 ranking and brilliant past record in the tournament, Fritz will most likely defeat Paul to lift another trophy.

However, given how close most of their previous encounters have been, it’ll most likely be a close match. Fritz may have the upper hand when it comes to bigger serves and groundstrokes, but Paul’s consistent rallying could pose a problem for the No.1 seed. That being said, who do you think will prevail in this exciting Delray Beach Open title match between Fritz and Paul? Let us know in the comments section!
