It is the ATP Delray Beach Open and the stage is set for an all-American showdown in the semi-finals of the tournament. Taylor Fritz, who made his way into the quarter-finals of the Australian Open has made his way into the semis of the tournament. Coming in as the defending champion, the young American will be confident of having the home support cheering for him.

In his journey to the semifinals, Taylor Fritz, currently ranked 9th globally has shown a dominant performance. He defeated opponents Nuno Borges and Rinky Hijikata, securing his spot into the semis with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the quarterfinals. Fritz’s aggressive approach saw him blasting 28 winners. On the other hand, he managed to win 80% on the first serve and 67% on the second. This played a crucial role in not conceding a single break during the match.

On the other hand, ranked 52nd, Marcos Giron replicated Fritz’s dominance on his path to the semifinals. He overcame Emilio Nava, Adrian Mannarino, and Patrick Kypson. In his quarter-final match,  Giron secured a straight sets victory 6-4, 6-4. Taking about his aggressive play, he managed to put in 30 winners, combined with an impressive serve efficiency of 83% on the first serve and 77% on the second. Not only this, there was a match where he didn’t concede a single break.

Fritz vs Giron: Head-to-head

When it comes to the head-to-head statistics between the two players, Taylor Fritz has been a clear winner among the two. Interestingly, these two stars have faced each other a total of 7 times. Out of these, Fritz has managed to come out on top on 6 occasions while Giron just managed to secure one win.

Their first encounter came back in 2015 when the two played in Challengers. In a complete one-sided dominance, it was Fritz who managed to secure a 6-3, 6-4 win.
