Botic Van de Zandschulp vs Sebastian Korda; Preview

Zandschulp began the 2024 season in Hong Kong but could not go beyond the second round. He found the same result in the ASB Classics. He had the unfortunate fortune of facing Jannik Sinner in his opening Australian Open round and losing in straight sets. A similar fate awaited him in the ATP Rotterdam, as Sinner ended his stint in the first match. The Qatar Open wouldn’t show much improvement as he lost in the first round yet again.

In the Dubai Tennis Championships, Zandschulp caught a break as he managed to go past Adrian Mannarino in the first round of the tournament. Now, he faces a major challenge in Korda.

Their second clash showed 6-4, 7-5 in the favor of Korda. They then played each other in the 2022 Italian Open after a few weeks. Here, Zandschulp would get the edge over the former number 23 in a dominant display of 6-4, 6-1.

Prediction: Korda to take the victory

Both players have not been able to perform well in the opening matches of the season. However, Korda has a higher win rate in 2024 than Zandschulp, putting him in a better position than the Dutch player. He has a better chance of moving on to the next match and going further in the tournament. Who will be the winner as per you?
