The stage is all set for some of the most dramatic and emphatic showdowns as the ATP Finals is on the line. Stefanos Tsitsipas, who earlier suggested his hunger to stay in Turin and make his way beyond the group stage will be looking to take on the Danish Holger Rune. After having started their campaigns with a defeat, both will be looking to bounce back quickly. While one has already tasted success back in 2019, one is featuring for the first time.

Coming into the ATP finals, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be locking horns against Holger Rune in the group stage. The 25-year-old Greek player started his campaign with a defeat against Jannik Sinner in his first match. The Italian player had the backing of the home crowd which eventually led him to a straight-set win. The final scoreline of the match was 6-4 6-4 in favor of Sinner.

On the other hand, his opponent, Rune faced Novak Djokovic in his first encounter. However, in an evenly tight contest, it was the Serbian who had the final laugh. After losing the first set, Rune came back stronger in the second. In another tie-breaker that followed in the second set, it was the Danish player who outclassed Novak Djokovic.

However, in the third and final set, the Serbian player started in full attack mode and took an early 2-0 lead. Rune could not come back from this and eventually lost the match with the score line of 7-6 6-7 6-3.

Tsitsipas vs Rune: Head-to-head

Interestingly, when it comes to the head-to-head statistics between the two players Rune has completely dominated the stats. Out of the two matches that they have played, Holger Rune poses a 100% win record against the Greek opponent.

Their first encounter came at the French Open back in 2022. In the round of 16, the Danish player won the match with a scoreline of 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. On the other hand, their second encounter also came in 2022. This time it was the finals of the Stockholm Open. In a completely one-sided match, it was the 20-year-old player who reigned supreme with the score line 6-4, 6-4.
