Fabio Fognini vs. Ugo Humbert: Preview

Fognini has not had a great trajectory since the start of the season. He was not able to qualify for the main draws of all slams and masters either. His best result has been in the ATP Challenger series. He played until the final of the Challenger in Genoa but could not go far enough to win the tournament. Coming into the Moselle Open, he has given us surprising performances.

He won his bouts against Alexander Bublik in round 2 and even beat Lorenzo Sonego on the way to the semifinal. Fognini is on a roll and has made sure Humbert will not have an easy match going forward.

Ugo Humbert is the local favorite, as he is from Metz. The 25-year-old French player has gone as far as round 3 in slams and went to the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters. He has also made it to the semifinals of a few ATP 250 tournaments this year, which has strengthened his mind. Stepping into the Moselle Open, he beat Dominic Thiem in the round of 16, boosting his momentum further.
