Stan Wawrinka vs Bernabe Zapata Miralles: Preview

The Swiss star has not been in his prime for a few years now. In 2021, he suffered an injury and went on a hiatus. His return in 2022 didn’t bear much fruit either. However, he has climbed up fast in 2023.

While Wawrinka is struggling to make it into the final stages of slams and Masters, he did manage to claw his way back to the Top 50 this year. His recent form has not been much to write home about, but the former number 3 always lays it all out on the court when he is facing an opponent.

Prediction: Wawrinka to win in straight sets

Despite both players having struggled in the past few months, Wawrinka currently holds the better momentum. The Swiss star has picked up his pace slightly, while Miralles has struggled greatly since his stint in the Madrid Open. The winner of their first bout is likely to be the three-time Grand Slam champion, who will move on to earn more points and improve his ranking.
