Regarded as one of the upcoming tennis sensations, Stefanos Tsitsipas did not have the best of the years. Having struggled with form, the Greek player is desperate to turn things around in Paris. Having faced Felix Auger Aliassime in the first round in Paris, the Greek player showed signs of the versatility that he possesses. He defeated the Canadian in straight sets with a scoreline of 6-3, 7-6 and made his way into the next round.

Having made his way into the semi-finals earlier at the European Open and at the Vienna Open, the Greek player finally looks to have gotten his long-lost momentum and is willing to make an impact in Paris. On the other hand, his opponent, Alexander Zverev has also struggled with form in the recent few months.

Making his journey into the round of 16, he faced the tough task of Marton Fucsovics in the first round and then defeated Ugo Humbert in the net round. However, in both the matches that he played, he had to pull in some extra effort and then make it through to the next round as both the matches were 3-set-thriller.

Tsitsipas vs Zverev: Head-to-head

With 8 wins to his name as compared to Zverev’s 4, Stefanos Tsitsipas poses a strong hand over his German rival. The first clash came back in 2018 at Washington DC. It was won by Alexander Zverev as he managed to defeat the Greek sensation in straight sets with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-4.

On the other hand, their latest encounter came a year ago when the two faced off each other at the Italian Open. In an evenly contested match, Tsitsipas managed to lay his hands on victory after a hard-fought 3-set-thriller. The final scoreline of the match remained 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, in favor of Tsitsipas.
