In the first round at Paris, Greek sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas will be locking horns against Felix Auger-Aliassime. After a rather disappointing season, Tsitsipas seems to have gained some much-needed confidence after his semi-final performances at the Vienna Open and the European Open.

Not only this, he also laid his hands on the doubles title in the European Open. After his title triumph in Los Cabos, it was his second title of the year. Other noteworthy performances this year include final appearances at the Australian Open and Barcelona Open, and a semi-final appearance at the Italian Open.

On the other hand, his rival, Felix Auger Aliassime, also enjoyed recent success after he defeated in-form Hubert Hurkacz to lay his hands on the Swiss Indoors Cup. Given the stature that he holds as one of the upcoming tennis sensations, he has failed to live up to the expectations. His notable performance this year includes a semi-final appearance at the Qatar Open and his title triumph in Switzerland. Coming into the Paris Masters, he would be looking to continue his recent form and stun everyone.

Tsitsipas vs Auger-Aliassime: Head-to-head

Interestingly, these two players have faced against each other a total of 8 times. Out of this, Tsitsipas maintains a 61% win record as he has 5 wins to his name while Felix has 3. Their very first encounter came back in 2019 when they faced off against each other at the Indian Wells. In a one-sided encounter, it was the Canadian who had the final laugh as he won with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2.

On the other hand, their recent encounter came about a year ago at the Rotterdam Open. It was the finals of the tournament and both the players clashed in good form against each other. However, Auger-Aliassime yet again made the match one-sided as he defeated the Greek player with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2.

Prediction: Tsitsipas to lay hands on victory after a hard-fought match

One thing is for sure, these two will produce one of the best matches that the tournament will see. With both players playing equally well in the recent few weeks, it is hard to judge a winner. However, with the experience that Tsitsipas has and the qualities that he possesses, he could be in the driving seat and could lay his hands on the victory.

However, the win won’t be easy at all for the Greek player as his Canadian rival, who is coming in after his recent title triumph, would certainly want to make things difficult for his opponent. However, it is only time that will reveal who among the two makes it through.
