Karen Khachanov, on the other hand, is also enjoying a fair run at the Paris Masters this year. Having faced Max Purcell in the round of 64, the Russian did not have much trouble getting past his opponent. Up next was the Serbian star Laslo Djere. But, a determined Khachanov made sure to break the headlines yet again after he defeated the Serbian 6-4, 7-5.
Coming into the round of 16, he faced Roman Safiullin, the player who did one of the biggest turnaround by defeating Carlos Alcaraz earlier in the tournament. After going down in the first set, he showed resilience and went ahead to win the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
