Disconnect to reconnect! Celebrating the victories is equally important as putting effort into achieving them. Carlos Alcaraz gifted himself a well-deserved trip to Ibiza after his title triumph at the Roland Garros this year. Such small breaks are imperative for players to revitalize ahead of the next tournament. Alcaraz is eager to take his clay form to the grass-court season, beginning at the Cinch Championships, fresh off of his trip to the Mediterranean Sea.

A reporter asked Alcaraz whether he went to any nightclubs during his holidays at the pre-tournament presser. The Spaniard was quick to reply with a cheeky smile. He admitted, “I did. Several clips from his recent trip went viral on social media. In one of such video clips, the newly crowned French Open champion was spotted singing “We Are the Champions” by the British rock band Queen. He was seen grooving to some music at the nightclub and taking pictures with the Spanish YouTuber Ampeter. However, during a recent interview with El Partidazo de COPE, his agent, Albert Molina, revealed he’s not a big fan of his player’s trip to Ibiza.

Molina worried that Carlos Alcaraz would be surrounded by people. Although Molina wasn’t too concerned about Alcaraz’s friend circle, he hoped the youngster would be aware of any strangers trying to film him. His agent feared a potential controversy arising out of nowhere due to the viral videos shared on social media. “Because in the end a photo or a 5-second video can convey things to you that are not real, lies,” he added. Despite their worries, Alcaraz felt he needed the trip. How important are these little breaks for the Spaniard?

But for me to reach my best tennis, I have to separate the professional part and the personal part.

He further added, “Sometimes I have my days off just to enjoy, just to forget a little bit that I am a professional tennis player.” The three-time grand slam champion feels that spending time with his family and friends helps him calm his nerves and enter the next tournaments with more hunger.

His focus now is “To be ready as soon as I can to play good tennis here at Queen’s. And obviously to get ready for Wimbledon. After a seemingly fun trip with his friends, the Spaniard will surely aim to take the top spot back from his rival. His aim will be to win two more tournaments, Wimbledon included. Can he succeed in his first title defense?
