Rublev vs Hurkacz: head-to-head

Before coming into the finals of the Shanghai Masters, these two players have faced each other a total of 4 times. However, the head-to-head draw between the two at the moment is a draw as both of them have 2 wins each to their names. Their first-ever encounter came back in 2020 at the Rome Masters where Hurkacz defeated Rublev comfortably with a scoreline of 7-6, 3-6, 6-2.

Their last encounter came one year back at the ATP 1000 Masters Indian Wells. An in-form Rublev proved to be too strong for Hurkacz at that time and won the match quite comfortably with a scoreline of 7-6, 6-4. With the chance of edging a lead in the head-to-head stats, both the players will be looking to perform their best game.

A win will not only give them the edge in the head-to-head lead but will also allow them to lay their hands on the prestigious title here in Shanghai.

Prediction: Andrey Rublev to win the match and lay hands on the title

With the form that Rublev is in at the moment, he will be going into the finals as the clear favorites. The fact that Rublev hasn’t lost any set en route finals, makes him a clear contender for winning the title. When it comes to some of the stats, Rublev has so far won 156 points out of a possible 196 which is quite impressive.
