The Swiss Indoors Basel, which has featured some high-profile matches over the past few seasons, has always piqued the interest of tennis fans. This season’s event will look to carry on the tradition with the likes of the 3-time singles Grand Slam champion, Andy Murray, participating in it. The 2023 Basel, which falls into the ATP Tour 500 category, is an indoor hard court event that takes place at the St. Jakobshalle in Switzerland.
In the opening round of the Swiss Indoors, the British tennis superstar will square off against the German Yannick Hanfmann. Yannick Hanfmann, on the other hand, has also struggled with his performances during the hard-court tournaments this season. In the very first round of the US Open, the German player tasted a thumping defeat at the hands of the sixth seed, Jannik Sinner. Hanfmann later also had disappointing performances at the China Open and Shanghai Masters, losing in the initial rounds of both competitions.
