Aussie Tennis Star Nick Kyrgios’ Disheartening Move Leaves Girlfriend Shattered as She Reacts With a 1-Word Message
Many people were expecting fireworks as Nick Kyrgios set his foot on the Wimbledon grass. The Canberra born star lost to Novak Djokovic in the final last year. Many, including the World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz, expected him to be a bulwark against the Djokovic terror this year. However, before he could stop the Serbian star from putting his hands on his 24th grand slam trophy, Kyrgios pulled out due to a wrist injury.
As he was injured and out of tennis action for months, Kyrgios’s girlfriend stood beside him like a rock. Fans know the Greek-born Hatzi as someone who constantly encourages Kyrgios to achieve professional and emotional excellence. But as the Australian star decided to pull out, Hatzi too lost poise on Instagram.

As Nick Kyrgios pulled out of Wimbledon, it disappointed his fans all around the globe. His girlfriend took to her Instagram stories to share the photograph of Kyrgios in a white attire in the stadium. With quotes from Kyrgios’ recent Instagram post about his withdrawal on the photograph, Hatzi captioned it with one word. She wrote, “Heartbroken”. She followed it with a sad and broken heart emoji.
Earlier, Kyrgios announced his withdrawal from the tournament in his Instagram post. He expressed his sadness and said that he tried his “hardest” to be able to participate in Wimbledon.

He explained the cause of his recent withdrawal in these words, “During my comeback, I experienced some pain in my wrist during the week of Mallorca. As a precaution, I had it scanned, and it came back showing a torn ligament in my wrist.” This is the third injury Kyrgios suffered since his withdrawal from the Australian Open.
The months long injury battles of Kyrgios
Kyrgios battled a couple of injuries earlier, too. During the Japanese Open, he suffered a knee injury. He underwent a knee surgery to remove a growing cyst in the cartilage of his knee joint. The Canberra-born star pulled out of the Australian Open, a decision he later described “devastating.”

He withdrew from the French Open as well. The fans felt that it was the same knee injury that made him opt out of the Roland Garros. But his manager Daniel Horsfall later revealed that the star had suffered yet another injury. According to him, robbers held his mother at gunpoint to steal his Tesla electric car. Further, he said that the star didn’t know how he hurt his foot in the meantime.
It is the third injury plaguing the 2023 season of Kyrgios. But his resilient spirit and his girlfriend‘s support may well help him to be back on courts soon with limitless entertainment.
