British legend Andy Murray has as many Wimbledon wins as Rafael Nadal. Also, as a Brit, he was able to win Wimbledon after 77 years. As the Wimbledon tournament is about to start, its organizers don’t seem to be respectful enough to Andy Murray.

Andy Murray dreams of winning the tournament a third time. Despite his age and injuries, the Brit is determined. He withdrew from the French Open in pursuit of the same dream. Though analysts doubt that he will win Wimbledon 2023, Andy Murray recently gave a statement with his Nottingham Open victory. Andy Murray is trying his best to make his country proud, even at this age. But Wimbledon organizers didn’t put him alongside the great tennis stars in its latest release.

Andy Murray fans will be aghast at the choice of players featured in the latest Wimbledon artwork. It included upcoming stars like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The two have not won even a single Wimbledon and are put ahead of the legends like Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer.

Moreover, the WTA legends like Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Martina Navratilova, and Chris Evert have been pushed to the back in the poster, almost invisible. And even more shocking to the fans was the fact that the tennis hero of Britain Andy Murray didn’t exist anywhere in the artwork. This led to the maternal uncle of Andy Murray, Niall Erskine slamming the decision-makers.

She wrote, “Where’s @andymurray.” But illustrator Grant Grünhaupt quickly responded, as reported by Express UK. He replied, “Worry not, Jamie, there are more paintings on the way.” But this is not the first time that Wimbledon has failed to mention prominent players.

Why Wimbledon is skipping prominent players time and again?

It is not the first time that Wimbledon organizers stoked such a controversy. Earlier, the Wimbledon organizers included Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz in the promotion material. But it excluded 23 grand slam winner Novak Djokovic. Fans questioned how organizers put Coco Gauff, who defeated Venus Williams as a 15-year-old, ahead of one of the greatest tennis legends.

Also, earlier in a statement, Wimbledon paid tributes to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Nick Kyrgios, and others. But again didn’t mention Serbian star Djokovic. Further, the decision-makers didn’t include the defending champion, Elena Rybakina, as well.

With Andy Murray being the latest icon to be left out, Wimbledon is becoming the nursery of new controversies every year.
