Roger Federer becomes an artist for a charitable campaign

Throughout his illustrious tennis journey, the 41-year-old tennis legend has always shown his commitment to his collaboration with Uniqlo. Even after moving away from the court, Roger Federer has been working diligently on his off-court projects with the Japanese clothing brand. Notably, the Swiss Maestro has taken up a unique role for the charitable project named “Peace for All” campaign.

The former tennis ace, who is working alongside some legendary artists, will design exclusive T-shirts in order to raise funds for various international aid organizations through its sales. A number of renowned artists like Basquiat, Magnum Photos/Cristina de Middel, Akamai, and Dick Bruna will also collaborate with Uniqlo’s “Peace for All” campaign.

Federer has come up with a unique idea of designing a t-shirt with the words “Love” emblazoned on it. The letter “O” will be replaced with a tennis ball to portray the central theme of the charitable project. Speaking about the meaning behind his innovative ‘tennis ball’ t-shirt, Federer said, “Tennis and peace both start with “Love” and I hope this simple design also can remind everyone how important it is to respect each other.”

The 8-time Wimbledon champion is extremely delighted to use his platform to contribute to a humanitarian initiative. All the proceeds from the sales of the exclusive t-shirts will be donated to charitable organizations like UNHCR, Save the Children, and Plan International.

According to a report from Rolling Stone, Uniqlo’s philanthropic campaign has already raised an estimated amount of $2.4 million, which will contribute to initiatives like educational assistance for displaced Syrian children. Emphasizing their collaborations with global icons, the Japanese fashion brand stated they aim to broaden this charitable campaign, all across the globe.
