The magnificent form of Daniil Medvedev continues as the Russian has reached the finals of the 2021 Nitto ATP Finals. The defending champion is looking to retain his ATP Finals title. The Russian beat the World No. 8, Casper Ruud in a comfortable two-set encounter 6-4, 6-2.

Daniil will now either face Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev in the final of the competition. Medvedev has managed to beat both the players this year. It will be enthralling to watch how the Russian takes on the challenge this time.

Daniil Medvedev advances to the final

The World No. 2, Daniil Medvedev has cruised into the final of the 2021 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. Easing past Casper Ruud of Norway in 6-4, 6-2, Medvedev has now won all of his four matches in the competition.

Medvedev was the undefeated champ in last year’s edition, and with these four wins, he has extended his streak to 9 straight matches in the year-end tournament. The 25-year-old is certainly showing knack for beating the best players on the tour.

Throughout the match, Medvedev showcased some exceptional court coverage. Medvedev is the current defending champion at the Tour finals, winning it over Dominic Thiem in 2020.

Medvedev to face either Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev

After overcoming Ruud in the last four, Medvedev will now be locking horns against either Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev in the ultimate match of the competition.

Djokovic and Medvedev have played three finals this year. At the Australian Open 2021, Djokovic won quite easily. However, Medvedev shattered Djokovic’s Calendar Slam dreams at US Open. Subsequently, World No. 1 soon hit back and defeated the Russian at Paris Masters.

Against Alexander Zverev, Medvedev has totally dominated winning all three of their encounters this year at the ATP Cup in Australia, the Paris Masters, and in the group stage of the ATP Finals.
