After testing the patience of fans for almost three long hours, the play finally resumed at the Miami Open. With the schedule being followed in the same way as planned, Taylor Fritz stepped into the court to hold his side against the Brazilian opponent Thiago Seyboth Wild.

While everyone predicted this setup to be a one-sided win for the American tennis star, the current set of events points to a completely opposite fate. Wild, who happened to be the underdog in this competition against Fritz, managed to turn the odds in his favor. Picking up his pace right from the start of the match, the Brazilian got the first set (6-3) in his name.

A small bunch of admirers who found their way to Miami just for the sake of backing their compatriot appeared to be highly excited as they cheered at the top of their lungs. While Fritz appeared to have lost his hopes of making a comeback right from the start of the second set, the end result of the match was predicted quite early.

Seyboth Wild, who has been proving to be right on track with his stable performance in previous matches, outperformed Fritz with his 6-3 6-4 win. Even though Seyboth Wild had to spend his energy to earn his spot in the Miami Open with the qualifying matches, he’s proved to be an extraordinary force.

Powered by an amazing serve that hardly allowed Fritz to win any points, the Brazilian showed that he knew how to get energy from the crowd. With Taylor Fritz finally out of the tournament, the baton of American hopes now passes on to other contenders.
